Cancellation Policy

As a rental company, last-minute cancellations are very costly. At the same time, we understand that things come up and we don’t feel it is fair for you to lose your entire rental fee if you have to reschedule. If the client cancels the paid reservation within 6 calendar days of the trip date owners agreed to refund of 100% of the total paid reservation. If the client cancels the paid reservation within 3 calendar days of the trip owners agreed to refund of 50% of the total paid reservation. If the client canceled the pay reservation same day of the trip day there will be no refund of the total paid reservation price. The 3% credit card processing fee will not be refunded due to cancellations.

Weather Cancellations

Our cancellation policy is simple and straight but fair. We do not allow cancellations for less than ideal weather. Someone’s ideal of perfect weather may not be the same for someone else’s. If the weather is Bad due to High Winds, lightning, heavy rain, storms in the area, or unsafe conditions, we can postpone your reservations for another date and time within the season. We do not move any dates for bad weather except for the day of rental. There is no refunds for bad weather that occurs later in the day if customers already out on lake. The 3% credit card processing fee will not be refunded due to weather cancellations.

  • Must be 26 or older to qualify for Boat Rental
  • No grills or pets allowed on boats (pets allowed on our pet-friendly boat rental)
  • We accept cash, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express.
  • Gas is pre-paid by the customer (see Boats page for pre-paid gas prices per rental)
  • Full day boat rentals are 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • There is a 2 full day minimum for Multi-Day or Overnight Rentals
  • Security/Damage Deposit required at time of booking. Refunded if boat is returned on time, clean and in good condition.

All boats come with safety equipment and life jackets. Any kids under the age of 13 will attempt to be fitted with a personal PFD so they are comfortable for the outing on the water.

*Season ends November 15. If the weather is bad on the date of your full day rental you can change the rental date within the season, no money back.

How old do I have to be to rent a boat?

You must be 26 years old with a valid drivers license and boaters licenses

Do I need a boaters license?

Yes! This is required by the state of North Carolina if you were born on or. After Jan. 1, 1988, and will be operating a boat or jet ski (PWC) on Lake James. All renters and operators will be required to provide a copy of their drivers license to the front desk upon checking in for a rental reservation. Renters will not be allowed usage of a rental boat without providing a proper license failure to provide a boaters license may forfeit access to your rental without refund. If I have a boater license from another state, do I have to have a NC Boaters license?

No as long as you have a valid boaters license it can be from out of state! Take the NC Boaters Safety course online to get certified.

Do require a security deposit?

Yes, we require a security deposit which is due at the time of booking your rental.

When will I receive my security deposit refund?

We process security deposit refund the next business day upon return of the rental. It may take 7 to 10 business days for your bank to process the refund to your account please keep in mind that in the same situation and security deposit is not refunded due to damages or other fees incurred you will be notified if this is the case if you have not received your refund after 10 business days please feel free to reach out to us for assistance.

Is gas included with rental?

Yes a half tank of gas is prepaid in total rental price.

Can I bring drinks snacks and alcohol?

Yes, you may bring drinks, snacks, and alcohol on board. we ask that you remove all trash and personal items from the rental upon return. excessive uncleanliness and trash left on board may incur a cleaning fee please keep in mind that drinking and driving laws apply to operating a boat on the lake.

Do you provide life jackets?

Yes! We provide lifejackets for all passengers on board from infant through a door. Passengers 13 and under are required to wear lifejackets at all times while on the boat. We highly recommend all passengers wear a life jacket while swimming in a lake regardless of swimming capability.

Do you have infant life jackets?

Yes! We have life jacket sizes ranging from infant to 3xl.

Can I bring my dog?

We do offer two pet friendly theses are the only two boats we allow dogs on. Book early they get reserved fast.

Can I bring a grill?

No unfortunately our insurance does not allow grills on board rental boat.
